after the rush of creating pieces for the craft show, my studio quickly became a mess in its unorganized state. since i'll be needing to study in this room come monday [can't believe i'll be starting my chinese classes so soon!], i decided that today was the day to start cleaning up the studio.

i dragged everything out into our kitchen and have slowly been putting things away [despite the still looming pile of supplies/etc just outside the door]. it is still very early in the process, and i'll have a true studio tour once i get things all together, but here is a peek! plus our cat bentley has found his new favorite spot! can you find him?

i have a nice little cubby in the wall with a few shelves. still working on what to put on the wall above the desk... right now is a beloved scrap paper to keep a previous kitchen floor from becoming covered in ink. the window looks out to our front yard, but is covered by the porch, so not much natural light. i'm going to have to install brighter lights. thanks photoshop for brightening the room for me!

i have finally hung my beautiful nyc print which i purchased many years ago but hasn't seen much wall time. another new york goodie: giant metal gear. you can see it peaking from behind my brushes on the desk. still cannot believe airport security let me through with that as a carry on!! i played the artist card and i somehow made it through.

and now it is time to truly play the artist card and use my studio to continually create new work. here's to swift organizing!
